The City of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu took advantage of the 25 th anniversary of the International Balloon Festival, celebrated in 2008, to create a new promotional signature formalizes its title of Capital of the hot air balloons. The 25th anniversary accounted for the municipal government a great opportunity to symbolically renew her wedding vows with balloons.
It was in 1987 that the Municipal City Council adopted resolution decreeing Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu "hot air balloon capital". Since the adoption of the name, two signatures were created. This new version, prepared by Francois Nankivell, a graphic of the municipality, now includes the signing the graphic symbol of the amalgamated city.
The signature "hot air balloon capital" is used by the municipality in its promotional efforts, proudly placing its city status host the largest gathering of balloons in Canada.
